Federal Reserve Rate Change

On Sept. 16, 2026, the Federal Reserve made the decision to increase the federal funds rate by 0.25%.

Because this rate influences the prime rate, some variable-rate products, such as credit cards and lines of credit, may be affected.

What does this mean for Members?

Variable-rate products may see a rate change. Please refer to your Agreement and Disclosure Statement for specific information on how your loan or credit card is affected.

Is the federal funds rate expected to fluctuate again this year?

It depends on how the economy is performing. The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meets throughout the year to evaluate economic conditions and determine whether interest rates should change.
